I’m looking into a behavior where memory is increasing by just using a Simple Scene Graph and one very simple custom component (created with the template).
This first image is a control, an empty scene.
now if I add a very simple scene graph entity prefab (with just a static mesh component) it increases the Verse section to 2.2 MB
By adding a very simple component (code shared at the end) the verse jumps to 7.2MB (5.0 increase) And now we have this new section Verse Debug Data with is around 59.1 MB
The problem can get worse if I add a custom Creative Device, even if is not referenced by the Prefab or the component, for example I created one with just an array of custom creative props (soft referenced) and now affects the memory when adding or removing props to the array.
if I remove the entity prefab the memory is reduced again to around 2M with the device and the array filled with 100 props.
Component created using the template for the entity prefab
So, my questions are:
What is this Verse Debug Data, and why is impacting in the creative island memory?
Is this an expected behavior?
Is anything I could do to deal with this?
At the moment seems that I wouldn’t be able to use a creative props array for what I want to do if this is not fixed (because I would be limited to the array size)
