Scene Brightens and Dims Automatically

Hello,

I just wanted to put it out there that if you notice your scene is brightening and dimming, despite disabling Auto-Exposure, it’s almost certainly because of the Directional Light. There’s a setting called Fade Distance:

It’s usually set to 100,000. If you set it to “1” or some other small number, the oscillations go away.

Unsure if this negatively affects other scenes.

oh ye the exposure setting should be adjusted from post-processing too.

It is kinda a long video but very useful  https://youtu.be/nlbJwMoj1Dg?si=3I4DF70rnVx_WnNN

Hey, Arodie,

I hear ya. But my issue, specifically, was that even though ALL exposure settings had been disabled (cameras and default project settings), the scene would brighten and dim on its own. The camera wouldn’t move, and the scene is just getting brighter and darker.

So, yes, you’re right, both in conjunction. But I’m putting this out because the setting in the Directional Light is VERY inconspicuous, and people may be over-correcting, when all they need to do is lower the value here.

Trust me when I say GPT, Developer Assistant, Google, and Gemini all kept saying the same things, and it wasn’t until I stripped my scene, and added one-by-one that I realized the Directional Light could even do this.
