I have some old point cloud data where a single scan position contains multiple scans of varying resolutions. One scan position is built up of 60 small individual scans and I have seven positions to register. Needless to say this isn’t helping with registration in Reality Capture or alignment with images. It looks like RC doesn’t accept unified or gridded data. Is there any way to merge the data from a single position?

what do you mean by “a single position”? RC needs the individual positions of the laser scanner to work reliably, if the object is complex. I would be surprised if RC can use this kind of file with varying resolution. You need one file for each position and resolution.
The scanner was set up and more than one scan was taken at that location. This is pretty normal for Leica data. RC understands all the data came from a single position it has a “thumbnail” for each piece though. More than 90% of the data we collect is like this. If RC can’t take these file then I guess it isn’t the solution our office is looking for. I don’t need RC to register the data I just want to combine it with our photogrammetric data.
