As the field of technology continues to advance, it is no surprise that we are constantly seeing new innovations and advancements in the world of 3D. The ability to scan a human face using a phone and turn it into a fully-realized digital human is just one example of how far we have come in this field.
Using a combination of Capturing Reality, ZBrush, Unreal Engine, and MetaHuman Creator, I was able to take a series of raw images of a human face and turn them into a fully-realized digital human. The process was incredibly exciting, and the results speak for themselves.
First, I used Reality Capture to process the raw images of the human face, turning them into a 3D model. From there, I used ZBrush to do some minor cleanup work and ensure that the model was ready for use in Unreal Engine. Then, with the help of Unreal Engine and MetaHuman Creator, I was able to turn the raw scan into a digital human that is ready for performance and motion capture.
The end result is truly impressive. The digital human looks incredibly lifelike and can be used in a variety of projects, from film and virtual production to video games and other forms of entertainment. The fact that this process can be completed using a smartphone is a testament to just how far we have come into the world of technology.
As someone who is passionate about photogrammetry, I am excited to see what the future holds. The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait to continue exploring this exciting field. Whether you are a professional in the industry or simply someone who is interested in the latest advancements in technology, the ability to create a fully-realized digital human using just a smartphone is a truly impressive feat.
