I have a FBX file i can’t get to scale correctly into UE4.15 upon import. When i import this file into ue4,
the scale is incredibly small so i’m asking what steps do i need to make in order to resolve my problem.
I’m not sure as to weither i’m importing it incorrectly into ue4 or if the file itself need some fixing/scaling before exporting from blender. What is the scale that i should set a fbx file to before exporting from Blender or 3ds?
having the same **** problem here, still not yet found any proper solution, but did you try import back that fbx file into your Blender or 3ds and compare with the object you made? somehow when i import the fbx file back to the scene i created in my cinema 4d, the object become very small compare to the model before i do export, some say it’s something to do with the exporting, some say your project scale need to set to centimeter since Unreal use centimeter as their unit, but the problem still there.
Hi, I have the same problem – tried posting in a different forum and it wouldn’t take. I don’t really want to type all that again, but basically I think the datasmith plugin is flawed (understandable since its’ still in beta).
I have gotten imports to work correctly only for simple things like a cube or a scene with only one object in it. For anything more detailed, the scene always loads in too small. I have gone through the quintessential scaling tutorial many times where it talks about a UU = 1 cm and a character is roughly 180 cm. People will repeat this over and over. One would think you juyst scale 1:1, but that isn’t the case. I’ve scaled my project inside out and backwards, but I always get the same result: small.
The only way I have found to get around this would be to import each object separately and reassemble the entire scene (but that can’t be right, someone made the datasmith plugin for a reason)
Just trying to find out one simple thing: “**What scale do you set up your c4d file so it loads at correct scale in ue4?” **again, if this is indeed just a bug I’ll understand
