Scaling options

Hey everyone.
We are currently exporting the orthophoto to integrate it with external software. The problem is that is not scaled.
We were wondering if it’s possible to scale the orthophoto in Rc and obtain a scaled image using a scale factor (obtained previously by exporting the .obj from RC, importing it in Blender, and comparing it with the cadastre).
Do you have any recommendations?

Thank you and have a great day.

Hi Daniele,
is your model georeferenced? If so, the ortho should be scaled. It also depends, what settings are you using for ortho creation.
To have scaled ortho, you need to have scaled model. It is possible to scale using GCPs or some distance scales.

Hi Ondrej, thank you for your response.

The models are georeferenced, but on average, 40% of them are off-scale. Does that seem off to you?

Also, do you see any way to scale them using CLI in an automated manner, other than using laser scan data and markers? It seems like all methods require interaction with control points. Is that correct?"

OK, it seems like the precision of the drone is not sufficient for such work (properly scaled model). But in that case also the model will be off the real dimensions… What is the scale difference to the original size?

It is possible also with automated process. You will need to use coded targets and know their coordinates or distances between them.
For that you can use -detectMarkers command and -importGroundControlPoints, if you know the coordinates or -defineDistance command for distances. Of course, you will need the proper naming of control points accepted by RealityCapture.
