Sanity Check: CheckForMerges.exe

Hi,

This is more of a sanity check, the check for merges tool (Engine\Extras\UnsupportedTools\CheckForMerges\CheckForMerges.exe) repeatedly get reported as Trojan horse BackDoor.Generic16.AQU by our office virus scanner AVG CloudCare.

I assume this tool was actually made by Epic and not a third party and therefore unlikely to contain this trojan and is just a victim of a over zealous virus checker? Also has anyone else reported similar issues?

Hi Steven,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. That is indeed an Epic create file that was briefly used internally for source control merging. You can either leave the file or delete it, it’s not required for the editor. We made sure the file was removed internally so future versions will not contain it.
