Sanction bombed

Well, going straight to the point. For past two days Im getting sanction bombed by Fab, and Im sure that its not automated system as they blocked totally random models including gun from 1920, made by company that doesnt even exist anymore and patents for it expired ages ago…

Its technically it is impossible that 11 random companies send take-down notice for my models in 12h time period and weirdly focused only on my models, as right now I see dozens of same models still available from other sellers(bigger ones of course) that use branded names without any issues.

And yes, of course Im using original name of guns, because how else anyone would find them if I use generic name like “pistol model” when someone looking for like S&W not glock… Its impossible to sell anything without using brand names. I can modify model it self do be slightly different and not use any markings but when client search for something how else will he find anything when its not named properly?

So dear FAB, if you start sanction bombing of models available online for ages and from start on your site after moving from sketchfab… Sanction EVERYONE equally, not just guy that make like 30 bucks every month… As right now Im looking at bigger sellers still selling branded models without any issues.
Or if its some personal thing, just let me know so I will remove my account from your site.

haaaaa? THE paranoiia8? Then we worked on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series modding time ago  .

Fun times.

Those companies can act to protect their own brand, but FAB agreement is that you can only use content / names / branding etc from other parties with permission from them. The way I see it, even if one of your products is reported for violating terms (even by FAB), the seller should have to be contacted first, not removed. Apparently they go straight ahead to remove the listing? I can find tons of products out there that are not removed in equal way (sly raccoon, dbz, blizzard etc) so they definitely don’t really dive into details (do they act on random? or do they act on reports and don’t look at all?)

FAB should definitely contact you to make clear WHY it happened. All the games using those names in the end product don’t get taken down. They must make clear if it violates their terms and why (copyright, trademark, maybe violence? the design of the models (copyright again) etc.)

Also FAB staff doesn’t really check out the forums, you should probably send them an email. They have a contact form for sellers when logged in on FAB. I’m also on FAB these days. It’s far from flawless…

Bombing still going.
They just removed models of gun that doesnt exist in real world. Its made up from random drawings and mix of images…

As for FAB messages, its always vague “model contains a case of Infringing or Unauthorized Content relating to Epic Games Content Guidelines” No more no less.

When I Appealed for models that doesnt contain any branding and no one have rights to them as they are guns from World War 1 or they are simply made up… I get automated messages so not a single person is behind fab support.

As for using brand names… As I mentioned there is no other way for clients to find model they looking for beside using it in description or title.
Not everyone make cartoonish castles or low poly characters… that they can just name “low poly knight”.

EDIT: beside made up models they keep going sanctioning WW1 guns… Browning FN 1903 pistol that patent expired in 1920, so FN nor browning nor Colt have right for it design…

I simply just remove all my models from fab. Its look like they prefer AI slops anyway…

Are you going to try an alternative marketplace? or maybe even patreon? I’m looking for new ways as well… It’s just hard to deal with law and taxes the more one does alone, if not dealt with by a marketplace.
