RunUAT.bat ERROR: AutomationTool was unable to run successfully

I just setup my Visual Studio stuff for UE4, and every time I try to launch a game from the editor I get the error: “LogPlayLevel:Display: RunUAT.bat ERROR: AutomationTool was unable to run successfully.” I already took the advice online to switch the UE4.sln configuration from Development Editor to Development, but that did not change the results. Please help!

Follow-up: I think the error I was receiving may have just been caused by a mistake in the installation process. Upon deleting my saved UE4 folders and creating a new repository entirely, making sure every step was followed correctly, I am no longer receiving the error. I also kept the configuration of the solution at Development Editor and no problems occurred. Thanks for trying to help solve the problem, but I guess it wasn’t actually an issue.

can u specify to how you do it? with all the .sln thing and development editor n such… i dont get it…

What exactly is the question you’re asking? Are you trying to use the source code version of the engine from GitHub or are you having problems creating a new project, etc?
