Hello everyone, I’ve been experimenting with Virtual Texturing on UE 4.25 for several days now. Although the functionality is not yet production ready, I already find my happiness there and I manage to project myself on its usefulness in my future projects.
Like for example, thanks to RVT, I can slightly increase my screen percentage to further improve the quality of my rendering without significant loss of performance. The blending technique is also extraordinary.
However, I would still like to know if the future improvements of RVT will solve the stretching problems precisely related to this blending. The triplanar does not seem to solve the problem. I also noticed that it is impossible to do Distance-based Tiling in RVT, DistanceBlend and CameraDepthFade don’t seem to have any effect. An improvement in texture filtering especially for RVT would also be welcome. In short, what could be next roadmap for this feature ?
