runtime switch for FPS pawn to VR pawn.

I’m trying to create a little archviz style project where I can switch from FPS desktop pawn to a VR pawn at runtime. I’ve tried a few “possess” methods but it’s just not working. I’m wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. Just by switching the pawn manually, I can successfully move between FPS and VR. I found a few tutorials online showing possession methods but everything is for UE4. The UE5 process seems to be a bit different. Thanks for any help.
