Like most of you I have started to mess around with UE4. As of now I consider myself to be pretty well versed in UE3/UDK but now I am excited to move on to new tech and learn new things. Feel free to check out my past mod work http://mozidesign.com/2014/02/24/final-udk-level/
Some of you may know me and that my background is more in level design/game design. I am not a level artist but I can build/light a level if I have assets. So to get things started in UE4 I decided to rebuild a part of a MP map I did back for UT2k4 called Runoff using some of assets already provided with UE4.
A few more details added plus a quick FX pass. kind of hard to see the water but it is there in real time view. Also messed with a few post settings. Not quite final but almost there. Still need to tweak the lighting to match the post.
If y’all have any feedback please let me know I will do my best to address it. I should have this scene done in a day or two.
Awesome! It’s pretty cool to see a level make 2 engine leaps forward like that XD Would be nice to see a new Unreal game made in this engine or at least something similar we can get into
Thanks man! Figured I get my feet wet with UE4 by using a simple scene I already know than think up of a new layout. I need to work on the lighting given that I think UE4 is now a differed lighting system I don’t think I can have overlapping shadow casting light sources… One I get the shadows/AO in good spot I can call this done.
If have time I would love to remake DM-Iron Maiden in UE4. It made its first debut in UE2, then a remake in UE3, seems fitting to do it again for UE4
