Running out memory

Hey,

just tried to import an 40mb STP file with the DataSmith Importer, unfortunately I’m running of RAM memory every time I try it. So how much memory is required to import CAD data ? I already have increased my cloud system up to 100GB of RAM.

There’s a lot of parameter that can cause the excessive memory consumption .The model complexity is one.
You could have 2 different STEP file of 40mb that could generate completely different number of mesh and actors.
There’s also the Tesselation parameter. Could you tell us what was your Tesselation parameter?
Here we have 65gb of memory and rarely run into this issue.
