I keep running into these errors when using Pose Driver Connect to import RBF Solvers into Unreal and it has me stumped. I have another character that I successfully imported solvers for, so I’m not sure what the issue can be.
Oh, I think I found the source of my problem. Interchange is breaking the animation into 4 different animations and renaming them on import, despite the animations importing and working like they should when dragged into Maya. I’m unsure how Pose Driver Connect imports its animations, but I assume it’s using Interchange as this is how it’s naming the animations on import…
Is Epic aware how awful Interchange has been in 5.5? They claimed to have fixed animation import errors with 5.5.3, yet they’re still here.
I duplicated the project, disabled Interchange and all the required plugins, tried it again, and Pose Driver Connect was correctly able to set up all the poses and animations in 5.5.3 with INTERCHANGE DISABLED.
Now I should be able to migrate everything into the proper project, so I guess I solved my own issue. This is a work-around that wouldn’t be needed if Epic would just properly test out their own huge changes, like reworking their entire import system.
