When a player launches my game for the first time, I’m using “Run Hardware Benchmark” to automatically set the graphics settings.
My PC is equipped with a rather old graphics card (Geforce 1660 Super). When I run the benchmark, I get the Middle - High graphics settings.
Also, the initial screen mode is “Windowed Fullscreen”, so the resolution is set to the monitor’s native resolution.
As long as I’m working with a QHD monitor, I’m happy with the benchmark results. The game ran at a steady 60 FPS.
However, when I started using a 4K monitor, I realized that there was a problem with the benchmark functionality.
Graphics performance is highly dependent on resolution, so I expected the benchmark to set a lower graphic quality and resolution scale in a 4K environment, but I ended up with the same benchmark settings as in the QHD environment, and the FPS didn’t stay in the 30 FPS.
Maybe I just don’t know the right way to use it yet, is there a way to get the results I’m expecting?
