Hello everyone! Take a look at the intermediate results of work on the future update
This system will work both from the pre-game menu and during the game itself (this system will replace Wardrobe and Weapon Modification Table)

Thanks to the mutable plugin, there is no longer a need to use the “BodyHideScale” parameter in the MetaHumans material. Yay!

Now you can change the appearance of the character right during the game!

There is very little left: fix a couple of bugs and test everything + add the ability to select hair. I also think it’s time to get rid of the Character Skin Variations clothing parameter. The Mutable plugin allows more variable control over how clothing looks on different character skins. But that’s a little later

By the way, it turns out that the Mutable plugin has a serious bug:

We are waiting for a fix

Almost done! Just a few general checks left to do

Hi! Does MutableSample run in standalone mode for you?

P.S. The update is ready. If I manage to fix the project crash in Standalone mode, I will post the project build here. This is the biggest update of all that have been added. The clothing system has been radically redesigned. Now adding new clothing is much easier and more convenient + more variable control over how clothing is displayed depending on the character skin used. The Mutable Plugin is a great tool that allows you to greatly optimize the project + make working with skins a thousand times more convenient. Yes, there are some bugs, we are waiting for them to be fixed, but still.

Hi, Mutable dev here.

I have been looking for the crash report for the crash you mention but I am having no luck finding it. Did you upload it? If that is not the case, please do, as that helps us a lot.

By looking at the topography of the crash stack It makes me think of a crash we have fixed recently, but I can not be sure without more info. Either way, the fix for said crash will be available for the next major release of the engine.

In the case you want to try the fix out before it gets released, you could try integrating the next committed code as it is quite self-contained.

Let us know if this helps you out.
Have a nice day!

Hello everyone! Here is a link to the RPG Engine v3 project build.

This is a preliminary version of the build: in the final version I will of course change the Overview map and replace some Static Meshes. I just want to show you what I did in the update

Hi! Thank you very much for your reply!
Crash log:
RPG_Engine_2.log (621.5 KB)

Regular log from Saved/Logs
RPG_Engine_2.log (624.3 KB)

P.S. unfortunately the link does not work

Hi again!

Oh, It seems you need to be signed in to GitHub in order for the link to work.

Also, looking at the log I can see all going well until the crash but I can extract no further relevant data. Let us know if by applying the code linked in the previous post you get it to work. If not, submit a bug report and we will take care of it as soon as possible.

Have another nice day  !

Friends, I am finally happy to present you the third global update of the RPG Engine project. Full support for the Mutable Plugin was added in this update. Thus, now you can initialize clothes and character skins not only in the standard way (using actors and skeletal/static meshes), but also using Customizable Objects, which makes this system much more optimized and convenient to use.
Thank you for being with me!
