[ROYALTY/REVSHARE/COLLAB] A Real-time Multiplayer 3D Text-based RPG.

A Real-time Multiplayer 3D Text-based RPG using various forms of 3D Text.

My intent is to develop a Real-time Multiplayer 3D Text-based RPG using various 3D Text / 3D Text Meshes / Niagara Particle 3D Text / 3D Text Subsystems which has the potential to support 5 formats of play:

  1. Full 3D
  2. 3D Text
  3. 2D Text
  4. Audio Only
  5. Hybrid 1-4

Using Blueprints, I’ve scripted a hand-full of Replicated 3D Text Subsystems to achieve this goal. Additionally, as a “Text-based” RPG (emphasis on Text), I also desire to implement a Magic Casting System featuring an complimentary Word Typing Mechanics to cast spells, interact, and dialogue.

Text-based Games are still Awesome...

I still enjoy RPGs/MUDs/CYOA/Audiobooks and occasionally visit IronRealms.com and ChoiceOfGames.com. I took a stab at writing my own choose your own adventure: D. RIFTERs.

I would later re-imagine D. RIFTERs as a Short Story to win the MSGT [Giveaway] hosted by apoisonedgift of Dapper Raptor Development. I would later extract concepts from that short story for ExORION Survivor: Alien Invasion | Kaiju Survival Terror XPS.

For many years, I’ve desired to develop and publish A Real-time Multiplayer 3D Text-based RPG, combining my passion for both text-based and 3D games. I’ve imagined doing more with Text itself using different Fonts and Materials to represent different entities and objects in the game world.

This image would re-spark ideas for text-based RPG using the power of UnrealEngine. Imagine using Action RPG Combat Game Mechanics and AI, but instead of using traditional Meshes for architecture, characters, etc we use fancy 3D Text like ZText,UnrealEngines 3D Text, Particle Text, and other 3D Text Subsystems.
