Rotator variables on Character Blueprint only updating when character selected/highlighted in World Outliner

Hi peeps, so my rotator variables on my character are only updating in Play mode when my charcter is selected/highlighted in the World Outliner window.

Am I missing something or does this look like a bug? Variables update as expected when character is selected/highlighted in World Outlier.

More specifically, the BP attached to my character is comparing two rotator variables after a 0.3 second delay. When in Play mode, the rotator variables are only changing/updating when the character iteslf is selected/highlighted in World Outliner window.

It may also has something to do with the camera preview. When I uncheck the ‘preview selected camera’ box in editor preferences, nothing works. When enabled, it works - but only when character selected.
