I encountered a weird issue with some animations while upgrading my project from UE 4.26.2 to UE 5.2.1.
Some of my animations are played normally, while others are not as if the root motion checkbox did not work, but then some other root motion animations do work, which is confusing to me.
It happens only on movement animations, so for example, my movement animation for Longsword (forwards, backward, etc.) does not enforce root motion even though I have it enabled in my animations. But then if I play any animation using montage, it does enforce the root motion, so the issue must be in some new setting either inside the blend space or in the animation blueprint.
I’m using the UE4 mannequin rig as a skeleton for my animations.
Also I have Root Motion from montages only enabled in my anim bp, enabling Root Motion from everything will result in freezing in place whilst trying to play the not functioning root motion animations.
Does anyone know what may be the cause?
I hope I do not have to retarget everything again as I have so many animations in my game.
