So, Im trying to make character to roll sideways using montage.
I tried everything: enabling and disabling root motion, enabling the root motion on everything in class defaults of anim graph, the root is also moving, lock root motion, using just the animation instead of montage. Its just stays in place, moves but stays in place, no matter what I do.
Theres no control rig, my character doesnt use default unreal rig. I followed the tutorials, it feels like 5.6.1 problem for me, or im just stupid.
Make sure you have it enabled in the Animation assets before you convert it to a montage, then in the Animation Blueprint Class Defaults change it to “Root Motion From Everything”! Check that stuff then let us know what happens!
No worries, I did see that, and understood- however from your description it sounds like you have tried a lot of options by themselves as opposed to purposefully grouped. So you need to have these things set and leave them set while experimenting, they will 100% be necessary.
What is your ABP set up like? Do you have a montage slot open and connected in for it to use? Bring some images, if you can!
Well I tried all combinations, leaving the root lock or root motion enabled etc. I have two montages slots, one for hands movement and other for full body movement.
Heres setup
I tried playing animation in the locomotion but it didnt cut the deal either. The montages work but character doesnt move. Do I need to have root have some exact name for it to work?
Edit: I also have physical animation on but turning it off didnt do much.
