I have massive Problems using root motion… in the Preview Window of the animation root motion works as intended BUT When I drag it into my World the animation is only played on local spot and I dont know why. The Root and the CapsuleComponent should move but it somehow doesnt.
Better check the video for better understanding and I realy hope somebody can help. Tested this in 4.10 and 4.11
If you turn on root motion and the capsule does not get glued to the root and move along with it then that usually means that the root contains no motion.
This seems to be the case as in Persona the “Root” is a “Child” of “Armature” which I assume is the mesh so if use root motion is set then Armature will be used as the root and since it’s mesh bind pose to a rig the origin never moves.
In whatever app you authored the asset in unlink Armature from Root, export and reimport, so that in Persona Root is top of the chain.
