Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with previewing an animation that uses Root Motion inside the Level Sequencer.
I have a character animation for opening a door, and I have enabled Root Motion on the animation asset itself. My goal is to sync this character animation with a door animation in a sequence.
The Problem: Before I enabled Root Motion, I could see my character move forward in the editor viewport when I played the sequence. This allowed me to easily align it with the door and use Control Rig to make small adjustments.
However, after enabling Root Motion, the animation now plays in-place in the Sequencer viewport. The character performs the open-door animation, but its root does not move from its starting position. The Root Motion only works correctly when I play the game, but not during editing in Sequencer.
This makes it impossible to visually debug the animation, align it properly with other objects in the scene, or make effective adjustments with Control Rig, as I cannot see the actual movement that will happen in-game.
Is there a specific setting I need to enable to preview the Root Motion movement within the Sequencer viewport, or is this a known limitation? Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
