I think I may be having a problem with using the Terreblis free converter to import Mixamo animations to UE 5.4.4. I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the converter or with UE 5.4.4.
I’ve followed a number of tutorials exactly and noticed that the output animation root motion is not the same as those shown in the tutorials. For example, when I download “Hang Idle” from Mixamo and do the conversion (using the converter’s provided UE5 mannequin) and then import it - the root has a very small amount of motion, which you can see below (which is not present in the animation root bone shown in the tutorial). It causes problems every time I try to implement an animation movement in a project.
Is it possible to step back to an earlier version of UE5.4? I tried clicking the add button in the library, but it doesn’t show any options for 5.4 (already have 5.4.4 installed). I’d like to stick with 5.4 to take advantage of the much easier retargeting (over 5.3 and earlier).
Thanks in advance.
