hi. when i use the mixamo blender coversion ti get a root bone. the animation is super weird they teleport and just isnt right. pls help
This is the procedure that works for me
- download the mixamo animation that I want
- also download the character such as Ybot.
- Feed them through the blender conveter.
- Import Ybot character into unreal - this only needs to be done once for all Ybot animations
- Import the animation choosing the ybot skeleton on the way.
- Retarget the ybot animation to the unreal mannequin.
note: you will need the unreal mannequin in a T pose to match the Ybot pose. I can’t remember where I got it now but try and find a T pose asset for the unreal mannequin rather than manually moving to try and create your own - I did that initially and it was never quite right.
I have had some small problems which appeared when root motion appeared and the character lay on its back but that is another question I think.
