Rocket Racing: Moderation, Lobby background -> Bad actors abuse it

With Rocket Racing, if you try to publish a map you get an error because the standard lobby background is flagged. If you publish anyway, you get a rejection (sanction) that is not overturned on appeal.

A big issue is that top creators in the Rocket Racing category are reporting maps that are gaining traction and use this background. Even if you remove it in the Creator Portal, it still appears as the lobby background in-game.

Bad actors report your map for using this background even though Epic automatically assigns it to the map, even after you remove it in the portal. The result is that I lost my spots in collections. That is especially frustrating because I had not had any visible collection spots for weeks. Some “top” creators want to keep their positions, so they falsely report maps for using a background that Epic assigns by default. This is not the first time it has happened. It has been going on for months.

Please make sure bad actors cannot report Epic-assigned lobby backgrounds. If they do, sanction them for creating an unfair monopoly. Also, please ensure appeals on this issue are approved rather than denied, since the current approach can harm creators over time.

This was my collections position before the bad actors started reporting me for the lobby background. And as I said before, this happened before and I know it has happened to other creators in this category as well.

About 9 minutes ago I got another email saying someone reported my map and my lobby background was not allowed and that my map was restricted. I removed the standard background Epic provides, but Epic places the lobby background automatically when it’s in-game.

Creators reporting – and abusing this glitch in the moderation should be sanctioned.

I tried contacting Epic Support, and they told me to delete or modify the image, but the standard lobby background is automatically assigned by Epic Games which I, nor any other creator in Rocket Racing, has any control over.

Both of my appeals were also denied, because the rocket racing logo is in the standard background Epic Games assigns to my map.
