I had similar problems but I cannot be sure if yours are the same.
here are some things to check and consider

  • 1 You could be loading a project that’s from the previous version that will not compile properly
  • 2 check your video drivers
  • 3 did you uninstall the previous version and restart after?
  • 4 try moving or renaming the last project folder you were working with

For the first, I was just running the rocket editor from scratch not any project. The second i guess is a good question, i will look into it as it says direct3device. The third i tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling just now and same problem. Finally, well that has to do with the first answer. How did you solve your problem like this at first?

mine was a driver issue also I know its a long shot but make sure your VIS has at least update 3

… mine was a driver issue too, i got about that same exactly error.

I don’t know if this is the best solution, but this following fix is what i did and what it worked with me: I uninstalled my Radeon drivers and I made a restart to make my PC installs them automatically, after a couple of restarts letting the system applied Windows Updates, the engine works.

This issue interests me very much because i’m not sure if ‘manually’ install more up-to-date drivers

Hope it helps you.

Do you have an Oculus Rift plugged in by any chance? I was having issues, even with it turned off.

Hi Eshwar,

Have you been able to fix this problem by updating your video card drivers?

no i updated the drivers for my intel graphics 3000 HD but still same error is it that i need to install a new version of directx

Hi Eshwar,

Can you tell us what the full specs of your PC are? It sounds like you are running an HD 3000, which doesn’t have full DX 11 support.

ah there you go so it’s a matter of video card. Thanks. And I use currently a hp laptop probook 6460b with i7 vpro second gen, not sure wat model, and 8 gb of ram.
