UPDATE1

Terrain Tool, Road Signs BP (x3)<<Click for Gif, Lamposts, Traffic System(Beta), Car Park

We’re a little late getting this posted into the forum. Our apologies.

ALLPACS has released its fourth pack, Roads Generator Pack. We published ROADS to the marketplace a few weeks ago and are very pleased with the reception so far. It’s one of our more ambitious projects to date.

When we released ROADS we already had a number of updates we wanted to include but wanted to get the pack out and start getting feedback from you about what exactly to include. We streamed a lot of the update process on Twitch and were able to get that released earlier this week. It includes road signs, lights, a terrain tool, and an alpha version of a traffic system. It’s a big update.

See below for some promotional content and videos as well as a breakdown of the main features offered by ROADS.

It includes intersections, highways, curbs, overpasses, ramps, junction, motorways, signs, lights, traffic, terrain tool, etc.

UPDATE1

Terrain Tool, Road Signs BP (x3)<<Click for Gif, Lamposts, Traffic System(Beta), Car Park

Is the terrain tool still supported? It has been like 8 months since the update 2.0 wip has been announced and I wasn’t able to find more info on that since then.

Also, I have a question about editing the tool. It works fine, however I have 2 big problems with it:
1.The first and the greatest is the fact that although you have 2/3-lane roads to pick from as your road type, there is only one type of crossroads and those are for one-lane roads, making those bigger roads virtually useless, because you are not able in any point to split and connect them together.
2.The second one is the fact that the height of legs of your overpasses are limited, one type of legs have a hard cap on height 2, the other on height 5 on the slider. When you are trying to create higher overpass, the legs are just to short to connect it with the ground.

My question here isn’t even really about adding any of those two as a part on an update 2.0, but how do you change and tinker on your road tool? A tutorial on that matter would be handy, beacause people could add their own assets to your blueprint, allowing them to fix those problems for themselves.

However, after looking up at the blueprint and how it is build, it seems I’m unable to add the new module, of my custom created 2-lane crossroads nor am I able to change the height of those bridge legs / add my own longer legs as another type. Tinkering with the blueprint, the only thing that changes is the length of the height slider, those higher numbers however do not create longer legs.

Any reason why I can’t paint foliage on any part other than the road surface? Collisions are on for all meshes and still I can’t paint foliage etc on the bridge underside or legs etc.

Isnt it to do with you cant paint foliage on dynamic meshes? I believe its only static meshes you can paint on

Hello, love this asset so far. But I have a few questions.
do you have documentation or videos on how to add our own models or replace the ones in this generator? Thanks for your time on this pack. Hopefully we get an update soon. Thanks.

its possible to swap with your own pieces if you have knowledge of blueprints and they’re all laid out clean. Buts its not setup to drag and drop your own pieces.
thanks

Heya, big fan of the pack. Conforming Landscape underneath the roadbed works in 4.25 but as of now, it doesn’t work for 4.26. I know there’s been a lot of updates relating to Landscape on account of the water tools and so on, is this something you plan on addressing/are able to fix for 4.26?

Looking in on another road pack (thread here: Snappy Roads Blueprint Tool: Announce and Support Thread - Marketplace - Unreal Engine Forums ) and it looks like the “edit layers” checkbox that you need to check for the new water/river etc. implementation must be unchecked in order for the terrain tool to work, just a heads up to anyone trying to sort this issue out themselves.
