Roads and pavements

Okay, so I am at a point where I am ready to throw down some early infrastructure in my game.

I am aware that splines are the way forward for roads, and was planning on using terain splines, as they will allow me to conform to the terrain, and shape the terrain when needed.

But, pavement in the urban and suburban areas, should they be PART of the road mesh? or is it possible to have three meshes alongside each other on a spline (two mavement meshes and a road mesh?)… or… do I need to have three separate splines running in the same direction along side each other?

I have seen the various videos on youtube for blueprint roads using splines, but they don’t seem to address this question.

I’ve been trying to figure this out myself, exact same issue. I feel like the pavement and road mesh NEED to be separate to accommodate for complex roadworks, for example a junction or crossroad. I’m also not sure how you could make this complex roads using single splines!

Anyway I hope you find an answer!

I am pretty sure the complex sections are separate meshes that you would place in between the splines?

I am still more confused about how the pavement and roads should be done though.

Have you seen Blueprint Splines Track from Learn tab?
I think it could solve some of your problems

I haven’t seen that one! Will look now!

thanks!
