The system uses Render Targets, enabling animated blood spreading and surface interaction far beyond what traditional decals can offer. You can cover an entire map with blood without losing FPS, making it ideal for action games, horrors, or any project that requires intense and large-scale gore effects.

As with any advanced technique, there are trade-offs — the main one being higher memory usage.

However, integration is fast, and the asset includes an additional tool for preparing your map to maximize performance, making the workflow straightforward and efficient.

Ideal environments include:

– arenas

– rings

– dungeons

– compact or controlled levels where large amounts of blood are expected

Hi,

Interesting approach. I have a few questions.

  1. Does it work with Forward Rendering?

  2. If I use sublevels and reload one of those. Will the blood remain in the other sublevels that were not reloaded?

  3. Is it possible to have a variety of blood “decals” / customize them? They all looks the same.

Thank you

Hi,

  1. Forward Rendering does not prevent you from using Render Targets.
    They are completely compatible.
  2. If you reload the level where the blood is located, the blood will disappear.
  3. You can set your own textures for the blood

Excellent, thank you!
