I see reallusion character creator models here. I will contact them. I bet Epic will care if they complain.

Here - [MMD/FBX] Firelight Ekko Rift ver -DL by N1ghtinGalez on DeviantArt it literally said that this model was ripped. It’s exactly the same model, the main features are the same, just a bit edited but still… There are also some other models, that was ripped from lol

So, an few years ago, someone had posted an free listing of RPG assets. Can’t remember if it was audio or UI stuff, it’s not that important. So out of nowhere, I get an email from Epic saying that they’ve removed it on suspicion that it might have been stolen. Fast forward to this day and age, and we have plenty of people posting models from franchises for free and Epic has been slowly removing them for the same reasons. Their answer to those problems is “we’re going to slap their wrist saying it’s a no-no” only at the reported stuff WE CREATE A THREAD OF and that’s it. There is no QA nor gatekeeping going on in FAB, everyone is ■■■■■■ about it and they just won’t address the situation just because (maybe the staff that dealt with this was fired). This kind of issue is being continuously reported since FAB launch and there is no action once so ever besides hearing a “we’re looking into it”.

I miss the UE marketplace.

This is the correct answer. There is no more quality testing on FAB, or even checking if assets comply with the rules / aren’t obviously illegal.

Everything now is automatically approved as long as it’s in the correct format. You will see a lot more stolen assets on FAB.

I wonder how happy Riot is about someone selling their copyrighted characters on a Epic’s platform.
It’s surprising how there is no quality/legal control whatsoever from Epic’s side, before assets are allowed onto the platform. Sooner or later someone must be suing someone for this, no?

There is probably a fine-printed clause on their ToS blaming the entirety of what is being sold to the seller itself instead of the store, or at least some plausible deniability. Good luck for Riot to sue a guy from freaking Iraq or Russia trying to get their money tho

It’s unbelievable the lack of transparency about all FAB issues going on. Not even my Tinder crushes ghosts so badly.
