Ribbed Gradient on a High Poly Model

Hello everyone) I can’t find a solution. Why does a flat surface have such a strange gradient? Smoothing groups are set up, the material is the most common. Thanks in advance for any help)

Can you show the mesh without any materials? It is not uncommon for this to appear in the engine if the lights shines from a particular angle. Adding additional edges between points should resolve a bit of the issues you are looking at.

Thank you for your answer. I used different light, the result doesn’t change

It seems to me that the problem is smoothing groups, I check the smoothing group checkbox when exporting (3ds max), but the model still looks like without smoothing

Hmm, alright… Have you looked at the import options when importing the mesh?

I used these settings

Everything seems to be in the ordinary. You can disable Generate Ligthmap UVs if you don’t build lighting and thus you will be able to save some data.

I found this, so perhaps try to reset the hard normals: How to smooth mesh - #2 by Astrotronic. Let me know if it works

Unfortunately, it didn’t help. Thanks a lot for your answers. I think the problem is mesh. I will try to do it differently.

I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Please let me know if you end up solving it!

Thank you very much for your help. I really appreciated it.
I found a way) The problem was really with the mesh, the solution turned out to be exported via Datasmith.
