Looking for:
Environment Artist as project partner to finalize a half-finished project. We need a flexible teammate who can assemble modular sets, light and fog scenes, sprinkle mood-setting VFX and handle performance passes.
Our talent:
We are a two-person indie team. I act as Lead Developer & Narrative Director, overseeing programming, audio production, design, and overall project management. My teammate concentrates on environment layout.
Project:
A first-person, narrative adventure. Set on an 1890s North-Sea island, walking simulator about two cartographers exploring an island, the player walks almost the entire game with NPCs through the game world and participates/listens to dialogs, collects text documents and performs simplified cartographic actions. Progression is linear but periodically the player will have the opportunity to explore certain locations on his own, driven by linear dialogue and cutscenes. Semi-open world.
The project has been in development for 3 months.
Responsibilities
Level production planning (analyzing the current map, auditing assets, and creating task lists) World building & level assembly in UE5 (placing assets, set dressing, and maintaining a consistent look and feel)
Requirements
UE4/5 level-building skills (asset placement, landscape/foliage, basic lighting)
Example of a levels you planned and built (portfolio, mod, jam еtс.)
Reliability, punctuality, and regular project commits
Length of project:
Short-term (~3-4 months)
Split %:
50/50 Revenue Share [Collaboration Agreement (based on English law + ICC arbitration)]
