I’m a 3D artist, animator, filmmaker, and visual effects artist with nearly 20 years of professional experience. I’m looking for a talented programmer interested in partnering with me to rebuild and expand a multiplayer superhero game I’ve spent several years developing.
The Game – Super Versus
Super Versus is a multiplayer superhero fighting game originally developed in Unity. I worked on it for approximately five years alongside a programmer, and we successfully reached a playable beta with online multiplayer, superpowered combat, flight, character customization, and other gameplay systems.
Unfortunately, development eventually came to a halt, but I’ve never given up on the game’s potential.
My goal now is to rebuild Super Versus in Unreal Engine 5, taking advantage of its modern physics, rendering, and networking capabilities to create the game I always envisioned.
I’m particularly interested in creating a superhero sandbox featuring fast-paced superpowered combat, flight, destructible environments, and large interactive cities where players can battle using extraordinary abilities.
I’ve already begun prototyping gameplay mechanics in UE5, including flight, hovering, dashing, wall-running, charged punches, and superhero landings.
What I Bring:
-
Nearly 20 years of professional experience in visual effects and post-production
-
3D modeling, animation, character design, and visual effects
-
Several years of hands-on game development experience
-
An established game concept with an existing Steam page and playable beta history
-
Game design, worldbuilding, and creative direction
-
Cinematics, trailers, promotional content, and marketing
-
Existing Unreal Engine 5 gameplay prototypes
What I’m Looking For:
A programmer experienced with Unreal Engine 5, ideally comfortable with C++ and Blueprints. Experience with multiplayer replication, networking, physics, and gameplay systems would be especially valuable.
More importantly, I’m looking for someone who genuinely enjoys superhero games, ambitious gameplay systems, and the creative challenge of building something exciting.
The Partnership:
I’m proposing a genuine 50/50 partnership, with shared ownership and potential revenue, subject to a mutually agreed written agreement.
I’m not looking for an employee or someone to simply follow instructions. I want a creative and technical partner who can contribute ideas, help shape the game’s direction, and share in its potential success.
While I have a clear vision for Super Versus, I’m open to discussing the design, refining the scope, and working together to determine what’s realistic for a small independent team.
I’m based in Canada and happy to collaborate remotely. I understand this would initially be a passion project, and I’m willing to build it gradually with the right person.
If this interests you, please send me a message with some information about your experience, previous projects, and what excites you about game development.
I’d love to find someone who shares my enthusiasm for bringing Super Versus to life!
