Using Revit 2022 and Twinmotion 2022.2. The model imported fine, I used it for a while, but then when I made some changes to the Revit model I couldn't sync. Revit gave me this message. Has anyone run into this before?
Hello ,
Sometimes, the Datasmith plugin encounters a "faulty" object in Revit that causes this error.
One thing to check is to make sure you're on the latest version of the Datasmith plugin for Revit, as the latest version does have some bug fixes that makes errors like this less likely to occur. The latest version is 5.0.3, and you can download it from the Twinmotion Datasmith Exporter plugin for Revit page.
If you are on version 5.0.3, you can try hiding the objects added to the Revit model before the sync stopped working, then individually unhiding them and trying to sync/export your model using Datasmith until you encounter the issue. This will let you identify the "faulty" object. You can then try removing and recreating the object to see if this resolves the error.
If you're able to share your files and require further assistance, please submit a bug report here with a copy of your Revit file for our support team to investigate.
Best,
Raghib
I’m getting the same error. The initial connection to Twinmotion from Revit worked fine but once I made a minor edit and tried to Sync it gave me this error. I didn’t add any additional geometry, just edited a ceiling and reloaded. I am using a Revit site model that has the building model linked into it so I’m wondering if that is causing the issue because I haven’t seen this type of error before when syncing a building model directly to TM. I’m using Revit 2025.4 and Twinmotion 2024.1
