Hey everyone,
I’m hoping someone can help me out with a couple of issues I’m facing.
I’m working with a large Revit central model that includes over 20 linked files. For visualization purposes, I only need the architectural elements, so I’ve filtered everything in Revit and exported just the components I need.
The main issue is that when I import the model into Unreal using Datasmith, all the geometry gets merged into a single actor/mesh. I’d like to keep the elements separated for better organization and control during visualization—does anyone know why this merging is happening, or how I can avoid it?
Another problem I’m running into: I’d like to sort the different components by their element family, but instead of the actual family names, I just see “Linked Revit Model” as the element family.
For reference, my Datasmith export settings in Revit are:
-
Dimensions
-
Identity Data
-
Materials and Finishes
-
Phasing
-
Structural
I’m using Unreal Engine 5.6.
Any insights or suggestions would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
