How to export from Revit 2024 to Unreal when datasmith is not available. I read that the default plugin is embedded in Revit, but I didn’t find such an export option.
It is in the “Twinmotion” sub-menu
Click View > Twinmotion > Export to Datasmith File .

Hello,
If Datasmith is unavailable in Revit 2024, you can still export your model to Unreal Engine using the default embedded plugin. Simply export your Revit model as an FBX file from the “CAD Formats” option in the “Export” menu. Then, import the FBX file into Unreal Engine by right clicking in the Content Browser and selecting “Import”. Adjust Login Link import settings as needed, and your Revit model will be ready for further refinement in Unreal Engine. While Datasmith offers additional features, FBX export/import provides a straightforward method for transferring models between Revit and Unreal Engine.
Hi - this only appears to work if you already have Twinmotion installed? What if I just want to export to Datasmith on a machine without Twinmotion?
I am not 100% sure how it is suppose to work because Autodesk is managing that exporter now.
What do you mean when it does not work?
- you do not have the twinmotion menu in Revit?
- the menu is there but the export option is grayed out
- everything there but doing the export does not generates a udatasmith file.
Also with Revit and UE version do you use?
