Revit 2025 and Twinmotion 2025.1 not compatible

Hi, everyone,

I have installed the 2025.1 release of Twinmotion. But, when I go to my Revit 2025 Project, and try to use the “Open in Twinmotion” tool, I receive a message saying that “Twinmotion is not installed”.

Is there already a solution for this problem? Will a new patch be released?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello there!

Is this your first time installing Twinmotion?
If so, please ensure you have the necessary rights and permissions for Revit to connect with Twinmotion properly.

Maybe this article could be helpful : https://dev.epicgames.com/community/learning/knowledge-base/pwj8/twinmotion-requirements-for-remote-services

Kind regards

Hi, thank you for your concern.

No, this is not the first time I install Twinmotion. I have been using the software for several years. I had no problem with the 2024 Release, but this time, I can’t open my Revit files in Twinmotion.

I have also noticed that other Twinmotion users share the same problem. I hope a solution will be released soon.

Best regards.

Maybe not for some… Working great here. Sorry to hear it,

Hi!

I am going to go out on a limb here, seeing is 2025 was just released and say they aren’t compatible yet.

FYI, here is the compatibility history:

Revit 2025 was compatible with TM 2024
Revit 2024 was compatible with TM 2023

Notice they are a 1 release version off.

A workaround is to export your model as an FBX, which can be imported into any version of TM

Thank you for your concern. By the moment, I will export my Revit files to FBX and import them from TM.

Best regards.

The “Open in Twinmotion” button is broken with latest release of Twinmotion 2025.1 For Revit

Just open "Twinmotion 2025.1 for Revit " and Revit 2025.4 separately, the links/sync etc. works just fine.

Hey! I had the EXACT same issue as well. But after hours of digging, I finally figured it out! :face_with_steam_from_nose:
Apparently, Revit 2023 works with Twinmotion 2022, Revit 2024 with Twinmotion 2023—so it makes perfect sense that Revit 2025 works with Twinmotion 2024. (Twinmotion is always one year behind Revit in version compatibility—that’s just how it works.)

Just download Twinmotion version 2024.1.2, and you should be good to go. That’s what I did, and everything’s working perfectly now!

You might be wondering why Twinmotion 2025 is already out, but Revit 2026 isn’t—I wondered the same! Turns out, Twinmotion releases their versions ahead of Revit, so that when Autodesk eventually drops Revit 2026 (which, from what I found, will likely be released around April 10th), users can immediately start using it with Twinmotion 2025.

Ya, I already mentioned the compatibility pattern above on Feb.27th
