Hello, after giving a VAT number in the seller’s account I’ve noticed something on invoices, it’s talking about “reverse charge” for VAT. I’m not an accountant myself so I’ve looked for the meaning of “reverse charge” and basically it means that the VAT is not included in the price. And before giving my VAT number, the invoices were stating “VAT included”.
However, I’ve also noticed something : the prices without VAT (now) and the prices with VAT (before) are the same. When I was buying an asset before, it was, for instance, 30€ VAT included, and now that I’ve given my VAT number, the price is 30€ VAT not included, for the same asset. I think that the new price should be 25€ (VAT not included for a VAT at 20%).
Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal or is there something that I haven’t understood about the “reverse charge” process?
The same is true for me. Has anything changed on this topic? Does it take some time until the checked the VAT number?
For me, they only added “This supply is subject to the reverse charge mechanism” to the receipt with the same price. This is not how reverse charge works. They need to remove the VAT from the price. In the end, you pay the same price as a private buyer, but need to pay the VAT in your country and the get it back afterwards…
