Greylight is a hobby volunteer team currently forming around the development of Novasis, an ambitious sandbox MMORPG. Our vision is a player-driven universe blending fantasy, sci-fi, steampunk, dystopia, (cosmic)horror and more — with a focus on freedom, emergent gameplay, and meaningful player choice.
This is a volunteer project with a rev-share model. From the very beginning, our commitment is to build the full game — to bring it online, launch it as a playable world, and continue expanding it together after release.
In Novasis, players will explore seamless large-scale maps, create their own class builds by combining three different class trees alongside with the cosmic building blocks of the universe known as Prime Essences, and a reputation system where every choice matters. The hub city of Novasis will act as a living social space shaped by guilds, trade, and housing, while the karma and reputation system ensures that every action leaves a lasting mark on the world. Governance itself is in the players’ hands, with tribunals, syndicates, and neutral groups defining the social and political landscape.
We are looking to expand the team with passionate people across different areas:
-
Unreal Engine Developers (Blueprints and/or C++), ideally with interest in gameplay systems, networking, or AI.
-
Creative Writers to help expand lore, quests, and factions.
-
2D and 3D Artists for concepts, environments, characters, modeling, animation, and visual effects.
-
Other roles such as UI/UX design, sound design, and worldbuilding support are also welcome.
We are especially looking for people with real experience in their field, who can actively shape core parts of the game. At the same time, Novasis is open to contributors of all levels — less experienced members can collaborate, give creative input, and grow their skills alongside more experienced teammates. Think of it as a mix of contribution and mentorship: those with expertise lead key areas, while newer members learn by doing.
This project is ambitious, and our aim is not just to finish it, but also to make sure it finds success. The focus is on releasing Novasis, marketing it effectively, and generating income that will be shared fairly among everyone who invests their time, energy, and creativity into making it real.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, reply with a short introduction about yourself and the role you’re interested in. Portfolios, GitHub links, or art samples are great if you have them, but not required. Enthusiasm, creativity, and collaboration are just as important as prior experience.
Novasis is about building a living MMO world — not only shaped by its players, but also by the team creating it. If that excites you, we’d love to hear from you.
