UI/UX Designer - Games & Web
Remote Independent Contractor Position
About the Role:
We seek a creative and detail-oriented UX/UX Designer to join IMU. You will be responsible for designing immersive and intuitive interfaces for our video game products and website. As a key player in the team, you will collaborate closely with developers, artists, and product managers to create seamless user experiences that align with our vision and delight our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Game Product Design:
Prototype and iterate UI/UX concepts to achieve user-centered designs.
Design intuitive user interfaces for game menus, HUDs, and interactive elements.
Collaborate with the art team to ensure consistency in style and theme across all game interfaces.
Work with game designers to ensure in-game UX is engaging, accessible, and visually appealing.
Website Design:
Optimize website designs and graphics for different devices and browsers.
Ensure an intuitive and user-friendly experience for our web-based experience.
Conduct usability tests, and analyze user feedback to improve website performance and experience.
Create visually appealing and responsive website designs for the company’s official site and product pages that mimic the game experience.
Research and Strategy:
Conduct user research to understand target audience preferences and behavior.
Develop user personas, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate design ideas effectively.
Stay updated on the latest UI/UX trends and integrate them into designs when appropriate.
Collaboration and Implementation:
Work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
Provide design assets, guidelines, and documentation to support development.
Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to align designs with the company’s visual identity.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design for games and websites.
A portfolio showcasing successful UI/UX projects, particularly in video games or entertainment industries.
Skills:
Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Typescript, and JavaScript for website design is a plus.
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and accessibility standards.
Knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) for UI/UX implementation is a plus.
