Hi everyone, I’m trying to retarget some animations from the UE5 animation sample demo to my own mesh. I’ve created my own skeleton, and it works perfectly on Mixamo, but in UE5, it becomes a mess that I can’t explain. So, I decided to use a Blender plugin to adopt the UE5 skeleton. I haven’t tried it with Mixamo, but these are the results in UE5 after retargeting.
I used the UE5.4 automation to get the IK rig and the IK retargeting blueprints, but even though it seems correct in the editing retargeting pose, it doesn’t work when playing the animations.
I’m still a beginner, and I have no idea what I might have done wrong.
Ok, i may found a solution, after selecting source and target root, in top right corner i’ve selected Root Settings, in there under Scale Translation, i’ve set the Scale Vertical to 4 and it seems to work. I’m waiting for replies in case isn’t a good way to do.
Nothing, this setting work with some animation but need to be tuned for other, i should create a retargeter for almost every animation i want to export and it’s ridiculous cause i used the same skeleton
Okay, the problem was with the Blender FBX exporter. I used the scale option to adjust the character’s size, but it caused a proportional shift in the bone movements, so it’s best to avoid using it.
