Retargeting weapon-less animations to skeletal mesh with weapons on 5.4

Hi,

I’m trying to retarget a Mixamo animation from the X Bot skeleton (has no weapon bones) to a Paragon Wraith skeleton (with weapon bones and weapon) using the new Unreal 5.4 retargeting feature.

Since the original X-Bot skeleton has no weapon sockets/bones, the resulting animation on the Wraith skeleton has the weapon flying around the character, and not attached to their hand.

Has anyone faced this issue? The older retargeting approach would require the creation of IK bone sequences, but I wonder if there is an easier way to fix this on the UE 5.4 version?
