Retargeting - how close does poses need to be to eachother?

I am doing something wrong because my character get stuck halfway in the ground and the mesh gets screwed up.

Here is the rig I want to reterget from because I want to animate with this one:

I have another rig here, because mixamo don’t allow re-targeting on their site, even to the same character with different rig… When I save the pose at the ground like on the other rig it looks ok in the retarget window. But after I do the retargeting it ends up like this when I go back to watch the pose: http://puu.sh/im5UF/bf86c9a0d7.jpg

And this is what it looks like on the animation that gets transfered:

Hey fanzypantz,

Have you checked out the Retargeting Adjustments section on this page of the documentation: [link text][1]

[1]:

The issue looks very close to the image you’ve provided with the crooked fingers.

Also, check out the section on Retargeting the Base Pose on the same page as it looks like the issue you’re showing with the thighs spread wider apart. If you’re still experiencing after making these adjustments, let me know.

Thanks.

Hi Fanzypantz,

Have you been able to resolve this yet? Upon second look it looks like you have the bones retargeted like the image below, causing the woman to rise in the air. As far as the fingers, follow the instructions which show how to adjust retargeting to fingers with less joints. Finally, if the hip bones are too far apart, you can adjust them at the base pose as outlined at the bottom of the same page with the finger adjustments I linkted to above.
