I have rigged and skinned a character (that I made with MakeHuman) inside Houdini 16. Houdini works with meters by default and when I import the character into unreal I scale it up by around 100 to convert it so that it is the right size in unreal. Assuming this doesn’t cause any problems I then try and retarget the default mannequin’s animations to this new character but it never works. I have read and followed this Animation Retargeting (Different Skeletons) | Unreal Engine Documentation page but whenever I attempt to do this and re target an animation the character becomes HUGE, unfathomably huge to the point where there is no way to see it properly or even scale it down. I have no idea what is going on. If I make a simple animation for the character in houdini and import it, it plays just fine and it doesn’t mess with the scale. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I have some animations that I made using the mannequin that I would like to use with this new character but as it stands right now, I’ll have to remake all of it.
