Retargeter doesn't pre-select ! Epic Devs?

Hello,

Since UE5, there has been a new retargeter that basically does a very good job. HOWEVER:

This excellent work is completely useless if the workflow is so extremely hampered. Before this retargeter existed, you could simply select several animation sequences in the Content Browser and right-click → Retarget to retarget the assets SELECTED in the Content Browser. They were PRE-SELECTED in the Asset-List of the Retargeter.

With this new retargeter, the same problem occurs EVERY time – and I don’t understand why it hasn’t been solved yet. Why, why not follow the original logic of the right-click context menu (which is intended to edit the context of one or more assets) and transfer the preselection from the Content Browser to the retargeter as well?

Why is “Retarget Animations” even in the right-click menu and not in the Tools section if it can no longer be used contextually?

**

Why has this extremely disruptive issue still not been resolved in 5.7? It is a fundamental workflow problem and, in the long term, wastes a lot of the developer’s time because they have to search for these specific assets in this specific folder MULTIPLE TIMES.**

Now, instead of retargeting the pre-selection from content browser I have to search for multiple animations and retarget them. BRILLIANT!

I love everything on Unreal Engine, but please, you brilliant Epic developer team, THIS needs a fix right now:

Transfer the pre-selection of animation assets in content browser to the pre-selection of the retargeter

or

alternatively remove the retargeter from rightclick-context-menu because it then is a TOOL which remains to the TOOLS SECTION and no longer a context-based operation.

Thanks
