I am using the IK retargeter to simply pin helper bones to different places on the same skeleton.
Much like you would in Motionbuilder or Maya. for example pinning an IK bone to the leg.
To do that, I setup 2 IK rigs for the same skeleton. One as source and the other as target.
Everything works well except that I cannot retarget the helper bones, that are directly under the root.
I have tried the set them to globally scale but the they will not retarget properly. possibly because I have root motion on some animations.
My question is: Is there a straight forward way to retarget these kinds of helper bones?
I just want them to do the exact same thing as in the animation so I don’t really need to retarget them, except the Unreal retargetting system won’t allow for it it seems?
