Restart by restart manager

I this error comes randomly, only when processing jobs that takes several hours to run.

My PC was running all 8 hours over night, no problem. Continued running in the morning for a few more hours, then randomly decides to crash, losing all of that progress.

After looking around online, this may be an issue where windows attempts to stop Reality Capture for whatever reason (Usually to run an update or to clear programs to make room for more memory)

My PC was updated just prior to reconstruction, and there was no update during or after the reconstruction.

Is there a way to prevent the restart manager from messing with Reality Capture’s processes?

If the issue is related to a limitation with RAM (I have 16gb), is there a way for this to fail gracefully?  Such as to save as much progress as possible so that the work can continue?

Hello,

As you mentioned, this error shows up when RealityCapture was restarted, or rather shut down untraditonally. It may be caused by various things, the most common one is a Windows update, or maybe overheating of your hardware.

Did this issue occur during the reconstruction? Was the autosave mode enabled? There should be an unfinished model in your project in the 1Ds view. You can select it and in the Selected model panel continue the calculation.
