Resources and advice for new UEFN developers

I’m a new UEFN developer and I come mainly from a game-development background, I don’t have much experience with Fortnite itself. A friend recommended that I try UEFN out and I’ve been having a lot of fun with it, though I’ve found it difficult to think of ideas for maps to make and I’m not really sure what the community/playerbase wants because of the lack of reviews or comments or likes or anything like that. I’d like to know how you guys get feedback for your maps to know what to improve or even what type of map to make next.

The official UEFN and Fortnite servers seem very strict and I’m often afraid of asking any questions there because most of the problems I face are really low level and I don’t want to waste people’s time, and also I don’t want to accidentally break any rules. I’ve also noticed that only a small amount of people get help in the servers. I was wondering if anyone could share some smaller uefn or fortnite discord servers that are a bit more casual

TL:DR: let’s share some resources, tips/advice for new developers and some discord servers for new UEFN developers

I think the best source of feedback currently is just playing with friends + playtesting. (Also keep an eye on your island in the days after you release it, you’ll be able to play with random people if your island is featured on one of the discover rows.)

Hopefully an in-game feedback system will be implemented eventually. I’d also love to get a notification when my island gets put on a row.

I’ve found the Discord servers to be strict about self-promotion. (Only specific places on server to share your island code)

I encourage you to try asking questions here on the Forums - I think there is less of a chance for your question to get ‘buried’ here when comparing to Discord.

As for servers, I don’t know any specific ones - but I’d look to see if people who are creating UEFN tutorial content have servers.
