Personally, I had to go into the Epic Games Folder in my Program Files and Delete the Fortnite and FortniteStudio Folders after uninstalling. As they didn’t remove upon deletion. I think that was also corrupting my reinstall.
Also as of today my older installation of uefn (1 month or so old) does not load my level into Fortnite for test playing any more. Getting error messages.
Windows 10 PC. After giving permission to windows defender, much fewer error messages, but still won’t play test.
hi @Dormikon ,
@Dormikon Use the new documentation for 30.0 first
IS-INFO-DSTCVPAT error appears when trying to update a game - Epic Games Store Support
You will still need to “verify” your installation as in similar problem in my post
urc.exe and urc.dll get flagged as Malware from Microsoft Defender - General / Issues and Bug Reporting
Hey everyone,
it seems like there are still problems with new installations…
I worked on my project this morning everything worked fine (No verse build errors or something) then came the update which I installed and now the app crashes after start it won’t even reach the project selection screen.
This is the error message:
Fatal error:
[File:D:\build++Fortnite\Sync\FortniteGame\Plugins\Runtime\FortInstallBundleManager\Source\Private\InstallBundleSourceBPS.cpp] [Line: 2054] InstallBundleSourceBPS: Unable to parse build metadata from Cloud/cloudcontent.json
Every help is appreciated!
hi @DoubleBGames ,
Have you opened the Epic Games Launcher Right Click and “Run As Administrator” and answered “Yes” to the Administrator Question
Then run “Verify” on the current installation in post
Verify
This quite often happens in Updates, due to the way download take place.
For the Fortnite engineers.
This is not in the UE 5.5 standard source so cannot see the problems.
Seems like an Installtion problem
Hi,
thanks for your answer.
I tried launching both the launcher and the unreal editor as administrator but neither worked…
Still getting this screen:
hi @DoubleBGames ,
type this into Google Translate and the components are missing.
Looks like your DLL is corrupted probably your virus checker has disabled some important dll
probably “C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\UnrealEditorFortnite-Win64-Shipping.exe”
in
urc.exe and urc.dll get flagged as Malware from Microsoft Defender - General / Issues and Bug Reporting - Epic Developer Community Forums (unrealengine.com)
Quickest way to fix is to Open Epic Games Launcher as “Run As Administrator”
- uninstall Fortnite
- Uninstall UEFN
Re install a new copy of Fortnite
3. reinstall Fortnite UEFN using the launcher
4. Launch Fornite from the Launcher
Make sure your Anti Virus has UEFN good file exception
“C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\UnrealEditorFortnite-Win64-Shipping.exe”
Thank you but I didn’t really want to reinstall 200+GB…
but in one of your other posts I found that you could just verify the files in the epic games library which I did an now I can run both Fortnite and UEFN again.
Big thank you for that!!! You really found some crazy ways fix some bugs. I learned a lot while reading through your posts. Thank you.
