Can somebody tell me how to take an image and resize it and make it larger? I would like to take some concept art for a game and print it on a canvas (a large one preferably). I suppose the obvious answer might be to find the source image in the size I need. However, if that size is not available can you make image resolutions larger without losing detail?
I have photoshop if needed.

Well, it can resize images, but I don’t think it will preserve the detail. Wouldn’t it stretch the image? I haven’t actually tried it yet. I will though.
By default if you resize an image it will maintain the aspect ratio, it won’t lose any detail. There’s other programs that have better algorithms to try and sample an image up but Photoshop does just fine.
There is nothing much you can do except for using the proper software to scale up your image, and also do not scale twice or more. Always use the original picture, that is without any compression (jpeg,png).
